Join Our Committee
You don’t need to be a “committee person.” You just need to care about this place.
Acacia has been part of Mentone for over 50 years, and that’s only possible because families before you gave some of their time. Joining the committee is how you pay that forward, and how you help shape what comes next.
What you’ll get out of it
- A real say in the decisions that shape your child’s kindergarten
- A front-row view of everything that goes into making a kinder day work
- Friendships with other families and a closer connection with our educators
- Skills you can take to work and home, like budgeting, grant writing, running
meetings and planning events - Something your children will notice: a parent who shows up for their community
But I…
…don’t have much time. The load is shared across the whole committee, and you can choose a role that
suits the time you have.
…don’t have the experience. You don’t need any. If you can turn up, ask questions and share your opinion,
you have what it takes. You’ll be supported by other committee members, and there’s training and guidance
available for kindergarten committees.
…won’t fit in. A good committee needs different perspectives, backgrounds and strengths.
