Our 4 year old program is a funded program. While the government provides some funding to our four year old groups, fees are still necessary. Concession is available for eligble families. Please refer to our Fees & Enrolment page for more information on fees.
At Acacia Avenue Preschool we have 2 four year old groups, they are Red and Blue group. Each group attend the kinder 15 hours per week. (see timetable) There are 27 children in each group and they are cared for by 3 staff members.
The Four year old Curriculum is based on the model of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) which recognises that there are five Early Years Learning and Development Outcomes which apply to all children:
- Children have a strong sense of identity
- Children are connected with and contribute to their world
- Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
- Children are confident and involved learners
- Children are effective communicators
At Acacia Avenue Preschool staff endeavour to create an environment which is welcoming, caring and nurturing towards all children and their families. The program is play based and aims to support children in developing skills and acquire a positive attitude to learning. The program content has opportunities for both intentional learning experiences as well as those that arise from the interests of the children and their families. The program aims to encourage areas of physical (fine and gross motor), cognitive, social, emotional and language development through both interest based experiences as well as intentional learning in both indoor and outdoor environments.
